Indian smartphone maker, Intex has expanded its line-up by launching the new Intex Aqua Y2 Remote today. The smartphone is packed with a remote control element to control various home appliances and is priced at Rs 4,390.
The Intex Aqua Y2 comes with Android 4.4.2 Kitkat operating system and runs on a 1.2 GHz dual core processor. The phone has a 4 inch WVGA IPS display, a 5 Megapixel rear camera, and a 2 MP front camera.
Commenting on the announcement Mr. Sanjay Kumar Karilona, Mobile Business Head at Intex Technologies said that, “The new Aqua Y2 Remote is the most reasonable smartphones with a soothing display to suit the user requirement. As the name suggests, the smartphone turns into a remote once synced with the products. Designed for the users on the go, the Y2 remote is available on different e-portals as well as on various retail stores distributed across the country.”
But the highlight of the phone is ofcourse its remote control functionality. The Aqua Y2 Remote can be used as a Universal Remote for TV, AC, Set Top Boxes, DVD Players, Speakers and Fan. Run on the application ZaZa Remote, users can select the list of product to be connected with the smartphone. The feature saves the model number for the products with which the function is operational. It allows the user to configure the phone as a remote with the synced model.
Besides, the Y2 has expandable memory of up to 32 GB, a Micro USB port, a proximity sensor and an ambient light sensor. The phone comes with additional features like Auto Call Record, FM recording, LED flash, FM Radio and music and IR Remote. The device is extremely light, weighing not more than 110 grams with the battery, claims Intex.
It is available in three colors namely grey, white and black.
