Samsung has launched Android Jelly Bean based Galaxy Note II smartphone in India for Rs 39,990. It will be available in retail market from next week.
The new Samsung Galaxy Note II features a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED Display and packs a quad-core mobile processor power inside. By default, this smartphone-tablet hybrid will run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean .
All new Galaxy Note II has a 5.5-inch HD Super Amoled touchscreen display that supports 1280×720 pixel resolution natively. Compared to that, Galaxy Note had a 5.3-inch HD Super Amoled touchscreen display with native 1280×800 pixel resolution. The difference lies in the pixel density where in Note has 285 ppi with first generation Corning Gorilla Glass strength whereas the new note has 267 ppi with slimmer second generation Corning Gorilla Glass strength.
Under the 9.4 mm thick chassis, the Galaxy Note II houses a quad-core 1.6 GHz Samsung Exynos 4 Quad mobile processor with 2 GB RAM and Mali-400MP graphics chip.
Samsung has also implemented a new feature called Popup Note that lets the user open the S Note instantly as a pop-up window anywhere on the screen. Besides that Quick Command feature to access frequently used apps with S Pen by keeping the button pressed. For instance, if you write name of your contact starting with @ sign then it will automatically begin composing and email for that contact.
The Galaxy Note II has an 8 megapixel camera at the back with auto-focus and LED Flash. This camera is easily capable of recording full 1080p HD video at 30 frames per second and the same video can be editing on the device itself. In the front, the Galaxy Note II features 1.9 megapixel camera for video calling.
Samsung continues to offer GPS along with A-GPS and GLONASS support in the Galaxy Note II. The wireless connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0, Dual-Band WiFi along with WiFi Direct support, WiFi Hotspot, DLNA support, Stereo FM with RDS, accelerometer, gyroscopic sensor, proximity sensor, compass and barometer.
The Galaxy Note II will come with a massive 3100 mAh battery and will be available in Marble White and Titanium Grey colours.
