After the ICS rollout kick-off for Xperia P last week, Sony has now announced the availability of Android 4.0.4 ICS update for 2011 Xperia smartphones. These phones include Xperia Arc, Xperia Arc S, Xperia Neo, Xperia Neo V, Xperia Mini, Xperia Pro, Xperia Active and Xperia Ray.
The update which will be available from this week itself will come with bug fixes, performance tweaks and other improvements. Xperia Mini Pro, Xperia Neo L and Xperia Live with Walkman will also be getting the updates in few weeks from now.
For those who have already got ICS update installed on their phones, they will get this update as notification which they can install over the air (through WiFi or 3G network). If your phone is still on Android 2.3, then you will need to plug in and upgrade using PC companion or Bridge for Mac.
With these upgrades, Sony’s lineup is arguably the best updated lineup. Most other companies like Samsung, HTC or LG have not updated most of their 2011 range till now.
