Huawei Mate X folding smartphone confirmed to launch in September this year

Huawei Mate X is coming in September this year in every country that has 5G.

Huawei announcedits first foldable smartphone Huawei Mate X at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 held in February this year. Now the company has announced that it will be launching Huawei Mate X in September this year. To recall, the smartphone was originally scheduled to launch in the month of June.

Vincent Pang, the President of Huawei’s Western Europe Region said to TechRadar “The company has used the last few months to improve the P-OLED screen on the device to prevent it from getting caught up with the same problems that Samsung had with its foldable smartphone.”

Pang also confirmed that the Huawei Mate X is coming in September this year. He revealed that the phone will launch in every country that has 5G. However, Mate X isn’t coming to the US, as there is Huawei ban in the US.

Notably, Huawei Mate X has passed the 3C certification in China under model number TAH-AN00, which means it’s market availability is inching closer. The listing revealed that the phone will offer support for 55W charging. The Huawei Mate X was also listed on Huawei’s official online store, Vmall in April with a June release date.

As far as specifications are concerned, the Huawei Mate X is powered by Huawei’s own 1.8GHz octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor. The phone has 8GB of and 512GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable up to 256GB via card.

Huawei foldable smartphone has a unique 3-way foldable design. When the phone is wide open, it doubles up as a tablet with an 8-inch screen having a of 2480 x 2200 pixels. When its folded, the smartphone it converts to a 6.38-inch display at the back and a 6.6-inch display on the front with a resolution of 2480 x 892 pixels and 2480 x 1148 pixels respectively.

The phone has a Leica powered two-in-one front and rear camera setup, having three sensors, a 40-megapixel as the primary sensor, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle as secondary sensor and an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor. The smartphone runs 9.0 with EMUI 9.1.1 on top and is powered by a 4,500mAh battery and supports fast charging.
