The teaser reveals that the P20 series will be launching in India soon however, it does not mention any specific date for the announcement in India.
Huawei announced the P20 and P20 Pro recently along with Porsche design based Mate RS at an event in Paris, France. Last month, Huawei posted an official teaser on its the company's official website with the text "Coming Soon in India" indicating the launch of P20 and P20 Pro in India. And now the company has again teased the launch of both the smartphones on its official Twitter handle which suggests the launch could happen soon in India.
Previously, the Huawei teased the new P20 series with a teaser stating - “is it a phone? Is it a DSLR? It is best of both worlds!”. The teasers, however, do not mention any specific date for the announcement in India. Also, it is also not confirmed whether either both Huawei P20 and P20 Pro or any one of them will be launched. As per reports, the company is planning to launch the P20 series this month end.
Currently, there is no information on their pricing in India but we already know their launched pricing. The P20 Pro is priced at 899 Euros (about Rs 72,350) while P20 is priced at 649 Euros or about Rs 52,241 approximately.
This phone offers a 5.8-inch touchscreen with 2240x1080 pixels resolution (full HD). This LCD display has 2.5D curved glass. It has the octa-core Kirin 970 processor which is helped by 4 GB of RAM and Mali G72 MP12 GPU. The phone has 128 GB of internal memory. Though it is based on the latest Android Oreo operating system, the EMUI 8.1 customised interface has been embedded in it.
In its back panel, a 12-megapixel RGB camera with f/1.8 aperture sits alongside a 20-megapixel monochrome lens that has a f/1.6 aperture. The cameras come with Leica lens and offer pixel size of 1.55μm, laser auto focus, PDAF and can record slow-motion videos at 960 fps. A dual tone LED flash light is also the in the back panel of the phone. In the front, there is a 24-megapixel camera in the Huawei P20 which comes with Sony IMX576 sensor and f/2.0 aperture.
Besides, there is a fingerprint sensor, USB type C port, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, a 3400 mAh battery, 4G VoLTE in the P20 which comes in single and dual SIM models.
Huawei P20 Pro
The P20 Pro has a slightly bigger 6.1-inch display but has the same full HD resolution as the P20. Also, it has much better 6 GB RAM and a bigger 4000 mAh battery. A highlight of its design is obviously the iPhone X like notch and it has borrowed the rectangular home button design from Samsung too. Besides, the Huawei P20 Pro offers a superb camera module of 40 megapixel+20 megapixel + 8-megapixel camera-combine in the rear panel.
According to Huawei, this is world’s first Leica triple camera. “40 MP RGB camera that delivers unparalleled sharpness, colour accuracy, focus and contrast for every single shot you take". It includes a 24-megapixel front camera, Kirin 970 processor, fingerprint sensor, 128 GB internal memory etc.
