Honor 9X to launch in India by this year end

Apart from Vision TV and 9X smartphone, Honor is also focussing on the deployment of internet of things (IoT) technology.

Chinese smartphone brand Honor is planning to launch Honor 9X smartphone in India by the end of this year, as per the company’s Country President Charles Peng.

Honor 9X and 9X Pro smartphones were announced in China in July this year. The same month, Honor India President Charles Peng confirmed that company will soon be launching its smart TV and Honor 9X in India soon. The phone was earlier touted to be released this month itself in India. But now, it has been reported that Honor 9X will be launched in this year-end.

“We are going to launch Honor 9X by the end of this year in India. It will be on Android. Any phone can be mirrored with Honor smart screen. We have always been thankful to our US partners for their support,” Honor India President Charles Peng told PTI in an interview.

The Honor Vision Smart TV has been recently unveiled in India. Apart from Vision TV and 9X smartphone, the company is also focussing on the deployment of internet of things (IoT) technology.

The Honor 9X features a 6.59-inch full-HD+ display with 1080 X 2340 resolution. The phone is powered by a 7nm octa-core Kirin 810 SoC with ARM Mali-G52 MP6 with upto 6GB and 128GB storage. The phone has an expandable memory up to 512GB with microSD. It has 4,000mAh battery with support for 10W charging and it runs Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI 9.1.1 on top.

It also has a side-mounted fingerprint reader which also doubles up as a power button. For the camera, the Honor 9X features a dual-camera setup which consists of a 48MP f/1.8 main camera and a secondary 2MP shooter for depth effects. For selfies, there is a 16MP f/2.2 front camera that uses a motorised pop-up module. The phone measures 163.1 x 77.2 x 8.8mm and it weighs 206 grams.

The phone has various connectivity features such as dual VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 5.0 LE, + GLONASS, USB-C, and 3.5mm audio jack.
