Google TV, which was launched three years back but is yet to be made available in India, is reportedly set to be renamed as Android TV.
The decision of renaming Google TV makes absolute sense as Android based TV sticks have already been there in the market and are available all around the globe.
Going forward Google Android based devices for television would continue to be made available which will have access to all the services and features that Google has to offer.
But unlike Google TV, manufacturers necessarily will not have to name them after Google and can name them freely as they have been doing with the Android TV sticks.
