Not to our surprise, Google took only 2 hours to respond when one of the redditor took the matter to Google forums. A Google representative named ‘IsaacOnCamera’ was quick to respond and admitted the issue after explaining that all camera lenses are prone to lens flares. Pointing out at the issue, he said in his reply – “This is the specific kind of flare that appears as a bright/low-contrast arc in the corners of the frame.”

Further, he also mentioned that users can expect a software update to fix this in next few weeks as Google has already started working on the issue after repetitive complaints about the same. Isaac pointed that Pixel cameras are extremely complicated and they are working on a new algorithm which will have to be used with HDR+ that will recognize the flare, characterize it mathematically and then remove it from the image.
