Google has started pushing a new Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update to the existing Android device users.
Jean-Baptiste Queru, chief software release engineer for Android projects at Google, noted that the new Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update is a minor update over 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. Initially the Nexus 7 tablet and Samsung Galaxy Nexus GT-I9250 devices will be getting the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update over the air.
The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update is said to be a minor update but packs a number improvements under the hood. However, it does bring number of basic improvements for the Nexus 7, Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S devices. For instance, the Android 4.1.2 update brings the ‘launcher’ features in Landscape mode along with expandable/collapsible notifications. Some Nexus 7 users have already claimed to have got the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean JZO54K build.
The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update will be first pushed to Nexus 7 tablets, then Galaxy Nexus smartphone and eventually to the Nexus S devices. Though the company has not promised any fixed date we can expect the over the air updates starting showing up in couple of weeks from today.
