Google Pixel and Pixel XL pre-orders to start on October 4

Google Pixel XL and Pixel were previously known as HTC Nexus Marlin and HTC Nexus Sailfish respectively.

Google is expected to reveal its rumoured Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones on October 4. Now latest reports claim that the devices could be made available for pre-order on the same date itself.

However, the reports are talking about US and Australia markets and not about the Indian market. Last year, Google’s Nexus 6P and 5X were launched in India about 15 days after their announcement on September 29, 2015. So this time also, we are expecting Google to bring its latest phones to India soon, if not on the same day.

Apart from the new smartphones, Google is also likely to launch the new chromecast which will stream 4K content through your device. Other than that, a new Daydream device is also likely to be unveiled at the October 4 event.

As per earlier rumors, Pixel XL will have a 5.5-inch QHD display, quad-core Qualcomm processor, 4GB RAM, 32 or 128GB of storage, and a 3,450 battery. It is expected to have a 12 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera. Besides, the HTC Marlin is said to have a fingerprint scanner on the back, bottom speakers, 4.2 and a Type C USB port.

The Pixel which was previously known as HTC Nexus Sailfish is expected to come with a 5-inch full display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. HTC Sailfish is also rumored to have fingerprint sensor and USB-C port as well as a top mounted jack. The handset has support for Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity and is backed by a 2,770 mAh battery. It features a 12 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera.

It is currently not known why Google wants to change the name of the series. There are not much information about the new series’ focus. However, we are expecting more information to emerge in the coming days. So keep checking The Mobile Indian.
