Google Pixel 2 users complaining about unavailability of Assistant unavailable with Bluetooth headphones

Multiple users have experienced trouble in operating the Google Assistant via Bluetooth headphones in Pixel 2 devices, however, Pixel 2 XL customers have reported unresponsive touch near the edges of the display.

There have been multiple bugs reports in Google’s PIxel 2 and Pixel 2 XL devices since their launch. Now, multiple users have experienced trouble in operating the Google Assistant via headphones in Pixel 2 devices, however, Pixel 2 XL customers have reported unresponsive touch near the edges of the display.

According to the Google Forums (viaAndroid Police), whenever a user tries to operate the Google Assistant via Bluetooth headphones, the microphone does not detect the user’s voice and seems to go mute at the moment. The issue is reported with the Anker, Beats, LG, Plantronics, JBL and many more headsets.

Apart from this, one of the Pixel 2 XL users uploaded a video on Youtube, showing the unresponsive touch at the corners of the device by using a display tester app. Further, one poster conducted a test on the smartphone and found out that the trouble is only with the taps on the edges, though swipes work perfectly fine.

Orrin, a Pixel 2XL Community manager, posted on the Forums, that the Pixel team is already investigating and addressing the problem in an upcoming over-the-air update. Furthermore, Android Police said unresponsive touch on the edges of the Pixel 2 XL device is due to the device’s accidental touch protection feature is very effective.
