Google announced its flagship Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones earlier this month. Now within one month of launch, Google has now announced that both the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will come with a two-year warranty worldwide. The announcement was made today by Mario Queiroz, Vice President of Product Management at Google. The customers who have already bought the Pixel 2 or the Pixel 2 XL before will also be eligible for the two-year warranty.
In a post on the Pixel User Community, Queiroz said, “We’re very confident that the Pixel 2 delivers an exceptional smartphone experience, and to give users peace of mind, every Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will now come with a 2-year warranty worldwide.”
Since the launch of the Google smartphones, Pixel 2 XL users have been experiencing display burn-in and clicking sounds issues. Several, users have reported that their units are having burn-in issues with the new P-OLED display and other devices are making clicking and high pitch Frequency sounds. After which, Google assured users that a software update will roll out soon to take care of the sound issues.
Regarding the display issues on the Pixel 2 XL, Queiroz commented “Regarding differential aging, we put all of our products through extensive quality assurance before launch and in the manufacturing of every unit. Thorough testing of the Pixel 2 XL display shows that its decay characteristics are similar to OLED panels used in comparable products. Our current investigation of burn-in, which started as soon as we received the first user report on October 22, confirms that the differential aging is in line with that of other premium smartphones and should not affect the normal, day-to-day user experience of the Pixel 2 XL. Regardless, we use software to safeguard the user experience and maximize the life of the OLED display, and we’ll make ongoing software updates to optimize further.”

In India, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are already up for pre-orders since yesterday on Flipkart and deliveries for the same will begin from November 01, 2017. As for the price is concerned, the Google Pixel 2 64GB variant comes with a price tag of Rs 61,000, while the 128GB variant is priced at Rs 70,000. Google Pixel 2 XL, on the other hand, comes with a price tag of Rs 73,000 for the 64GB variant, while the 128GB variant will cost you Rs 82,000. The Pixel 2 XL will be available for sales in 1000+ stores and on Flipkart starting November 15, 2017.
