Gionee has rolled out new Over the Air (OTA) update for its P7 smartphone in India. The OTA update brings new value added features and update, the key update being ViLTE support (Video over LTE), it’s an extension of VoLTE, which enhances voice services with a high-quality video channel. ViLTE is a conversational (i.e. person to person) video service based on the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) core network.
Other features include the addition of BeautyPlus App and an update of Urdu language support, Mood wallpaper, G-Store, Theme Park, UC Browser, Truecaller and Saavan. Further, the update fixes minor bugs and improves the performance of the device.
To recollect, Gionee P7 was launched in India last year at Rs 9,999. The smartphone features a 5-inch HD (720 a 1280 pixels) IPS display with Soda lime protection and is powered by a 1.3 GHz Quad Core processor. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable up-to 128Gb via microSD card. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with Amigo 3.2 on top of it.
On its camera front, the Gionee P7 sports an 8-megapixel primary camera with LED flash, and a 5-megapixel with Screen flash for selfies. It comes packed with 2300 mAh Li-ion polymer battery, which claims to offer standby time of 259 hours. Besides, the smartphone offers Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a microUSB port. The smartphone also support CDMA networks.
