First look for the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus leaked

We have the first image renders with specifications and even the launch date for the next-gen Moto G devices.

The Moto G lineup has been the most successful series for Motorola (read Lenovo) so far. In India, the G series is actually considered the company’s flagship given its popularity amongst users. Now, in a recent story from Android Soul, Moto G5 and G5 Plus has finally got its first leak treatment with images, specifications, and even the release date being speculated on. Both the devices are expected to launch on March 8, 2017, however, we are not yet sure if this will apply to the India launch as well.
Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus
While the images seem to be identical to Moto G 4th generation smartphones, the specifications reveal that both the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus will sport a 5.5 inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display. Further, both the devices will come with Octa-Core processor and we expect it to be from Snapdragon like always. While both the devices will come with a 16GB storage option, the Moto G5 Plus will also get a 32GB variant. This might be the variant with more RAM as seen in the previous generation Moto devices. On the camera front, Moto G5 Plus will sport a 16-megapixel rear camera with a 5-megapixel front facing camera. On the other hand, the G5 will feature a 13-megapixel rear shooter with the same 5-megapixel front firing camera. Interestingly, only the Moto G5 Plus will sport the fingerprint scanner at the front while Lenovo is likely to skip the same on the regular variant. The spec sheet doesn’t reveal the battery capacity, however, it does say that both the devices will support Turbo Charging technology, making it a reasonable estimate to expect the battery power at 3200 mAH or more.
Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus
Regarding the Android version, we expect Motorola to ship the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus at least with Android 7.0 Nougat if not with Android 7.1. This makes sense as Motorola is already testing Android 7.0 Nougat for Moto G4 Plus.

Lastly, we recommend you to take these leaks with a pinch of salt as initial leaks are generally not that reliable and given the launch date of March, it is way too early for a device to get authentic leaks. Keep up with this portal for further updates.
