Priced at Rs 13,999, it has its sights on high performing phones such as the OnePlus X, available for Rs 16,999, which while offering great specs, might not last as long as the P70. Read on to see how the marathon runner and the sprinter do against each other.

Design

The OnePlus X is glass all around, encapsulated by metallic sides. It has thin bezels on the front and a very clean look on the back too, which is dominated by a glass back panel.

Both of these phones are really nice looking packages, and we can’t pick a winner though the all glass look of the X might impress many.

The OnePlus X has a 5.5 inch HD with a resolution of 720 x 1280, and a pixel density of 267 ppi. The display is protected by 3.

The larger and tougher display of the OnePlus X is the winner. Regardless of what kind of your phone has, we recommend that you invest in a tempered glass protector.

Processor and Memory

The OnePlus X runs a quad-core 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 801 which runs with 3 of RAM. The stands at 16 GB to which you can add another 128 GB via a card.

The Lenovo P70 is armed with an octa-core MediaTek 6752 processor which is clocked at 1.7 GHz. The phone has 2 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of internal storage, to which you can add another 32 GB via a microSD card.

The Lenovo P70 has an upper mid-range processor, but the OnePlus X runs last year’s flagship from Snapdragon, and it also has 1 extra GB of RAM, along with more storage (combined).

Software

The Lenovo P70 runs KitKat, Lenovo’s Vibe UI has some customisations and is fairly easy to use and smooth too. The OnePlus X runs on Android Lollipop with their own Oxygen OS on top, which copies several features from Cyanogen.

Battery

The OnePlus X has a 2525 battery while the Lenovo P70 has a 4000 mAh battery. Regardless of the claimed or standby, the huge difference in mAh means that there is only one winner here, the Lenovo P70.

Camera

OnePlus X has a 13 primary camera, with phase detection auto-focus, an of f/2.0, flash, face detection, panorama, geo-tagging, and video recording at 1080p at 30 fps. The front has an 8 megapixel camera for video calling and selfie taking, etc.

The Lenovo P70 too is armed with a 13 megapixel unit with auto-focus, LED flash, HDR, panorama, smile detection, and video recording. The front has a 5 megapixel selfie shooter as well.

Spec for spec, both these phones are similar, and it is difficult to call a winner till a real world test occurs.

Connectivity

The OnePlus X is a device, equipped with 4G, GPS (A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS), 4.0, and WiFi.

The Lenovo P70 too is a dual-SIM device with 4G, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS (A-GPS), and WiFi.

Wrapping up

The OnePlus X is Rs 3,000 more expensive, but it offers better looks, a better display, faster processing, more storage, the latest operating system, a better selfie camera, but a far poorer battery. The Lenovo is cheaper, and it shows, but the battery is massive, and that might swing the vote for some of you.
