Launched one week apart, these are the only two phones under Rs 10,000 to offer 3 GB RAM. While Intex Cloud Swift is priced at Rs 8,888, the Coolpad Note 3 costs Rs 8,999. In terms of price along and brand value the Intex Cloud Swift has surely an upper hand. But the Coolpad Note 3 too is stuffed with attractive features. So let’s delve a bit deeper and see which one is a better value for money device.
Design
The Intex Cloud Swift has a very interesting fine criss-cross pattern design on the rear panel. The phone measures 144.5 x 72.5 x 8.9 mm and weighs 140 grams. The Intex Cloud Swift has a dull metal surround on the edges too.
The Coolpad Note 3 too is quite attractive with matte finish back panel and almost zero bezel on the left and right hand side of the display. Plus it has got curved edges and thus offers a good grip. The Note 3 has a shiny metal finish on the edges. The rear of the phone has a fingerprint sensor too. The Coolpad Note 3 weighs 155 grams and measures 151 x 77 x 9.3 mm.
One can here say that the Note 3 is a heavier and bigger device but as per our experience, it is quite comfortable to hold and use. As far as look is concerned, it is open for debate.
Display
The Coolpad Note 3 has a 5.5 inch IPS display with Resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels but it does not have any protection. The Intex Cloud Swift on the other hand has a 5 inch IPS display with the same 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and is also has the Asahi Dragontrail Glass protection.
You have to see what size works better for you. Do not factor in the Asahi Dragontrail glass into this, as we strongly recommend that you use a tempered glass screen guard no matter if your device has any protective glass or not.
Processor & Memory
The Intex Cloud Swift has a quad-core Processor clocked at 1.3 GHz, with a ridiculous 3 GB of RAM. The internal storage stands at 16 GB to which you can add another 128 GB via a micro SD card.
The Coolpad Note 3 has a 1.3 GHz octa-core processor which also runs with 3 GB of RAM. The internal storage stands at 16 GB to which you can add another 64 GB via a micro SD card.
The Coolpad Note 3 is armed with a better processor, which thus should outperform the Cloud Swift but it has less expandable storage space than the Intex handset. Also keep in mind with quad core processor and 3 GB RAM, the Intex smartphone is quite a powerful smartphone too and should not have any problem in multitasking or while playing high end games.
Software
Both these phones run on Android Lollipop (5.1), and have mild customisations on the UI.
Battery
The Coolpad Note 3 has a 3000 mAh battery, while the Intex Cloud Swift has a 2500 mAh battery. But owing to bigger display and octa core processor, the Note 3 has higher battery power requirement. So we expect the devices to offer identical back up with similar usages.
Camera
The Intex Cloud Swift has an 8 Megapixel primary camera with autofocus, face beauty mode, smile shot, face detection, voice capture, video recording, and flash. The front of the phone has a 5 megapixel selfie taker on the front.
The Coolpad Note 3 has a 13 megapixel primary camera which comes with autofocus, 5p lens, HDR, burst shot, CMOS sensor, 1080p video recording ability, and an LED flash light. It offers a 5 megapixel front camera.
Spec for spec, the Coolpad Note 3 wins this round with ease; however we usually wait for a real world test to declare a winner.
Connectivity
The Coolpad Note 3 is a Dual-SIM 4G phone with GPS (A-GPS), Bluetooth 4.0, and WiFi.
The Intex Cloud Swift is also a dual-SIM 4G phone with GPS (A-GPS), Bluetooth, and WiFi.
Wrapping up
The Intex Cloud Swift has higher storage capacity, but the Coolpad Note 3 has a larger display, better processor, larger battery, and a better camera too. So at this point of time the Coolpad Note 3 seems like a better choice. Currently we are reviewing the Coolpad Note 3 so keep checking The Mobile Indian for our final verdict on the phone.
