Comio to launch 4 smartphones on Aug 18, price starts at Rs 6,000

The company plans to come with smartphones which have zero bloat ware and big on features especially security

A new handset player, Comio, is all set to enter Indian market on August 18. It is a brand of Topwise which is well-known ODM (original device manufacturer) based in China and has been supping smartphone to companies like Micromax in the past.

Sanjay Kalirona, CEO, Comio said to The Mobile Indian, “We will be launching four 7.0 based budget smartphones on August 18 in India. They will be priced between Rs 6, 000 to Rs 15,000.”

In the first phase, Comio will import the devices from China but is targeting September – October time frame to start assembly in India. “The company plans to come with smartphones which have zero bloat ware and big on features especially security,” Sanjay further added.

When we asked him about after sales service, he said, “ We will have a robust after sales setup in place at the time of launch and our customers can touch base with us using any medium – call, visit a store ( 400 at the time of launch), web interface and chat interface.”

Comio will initially sell smartphones via its 10,000 retail partner outlets and in coming weeks will make them available in online stores as well.
