Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 starts receiving Android 9 Pie update

The Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 was launched in December but ran Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

After rolling out the Android Pie update to Zenfone Max Pro M1 and Zenfone Max M2, Asus has also now rolled out the Pie update to its ZenFone Max Pro M2 smartphone. TheAsus ZenFone Max Pro M2 was launched in December but ran Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

The update comes with version number 16.2017.1903.061. The update brings the latest March 19 security patch to the latest smartphone.

The latest Android Pie update brings several new features, including Adaptive Battery, Digital Wellbeing, improved security features, new accessibility menu, new screenshot shortcut, easier screen rotation, volume and sound improvements. Users will get an all-new contextual pop-up volume bar and a new Magnifier feature for “easier copy-and-paste”.

Asus has revealed that the update is currently rolling out in batches. Those users who have received a notification to update to Android Pie will need to click on it to download the update. Once downloaded, users should see a pop-up notification to install the update. However, if you have not received any notification, you can check for the latest update by going to Settings > About Phone > System updates.

For the pricing, Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 3GB + 32GB variant is priced at Rs 9,999, 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant is priced at Rs 11,999, and the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant is priced at Rs 13,999.

To recall, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 features a 6.3-inch Full display with a screen resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 coupled with Adreno 512 GPU. The phone has a 3GB RAM and 4GB of RAM coupled with 32GB/64GB/128GB of internal storage. The smartphone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and is backed by a 5000mAh battery. It has dual-camera setup with a combination of a primary sensor of 12-megapixel and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. For the front, there is a 13-megapixel shooter with f/2.0 aperture, 26mm focal length, LED flash and face unlock.
