Taiwanese company Asus has teased its Zenfone 3 series smartphones, a few weeks ahead of this year’s Computex Taipei conference. The annual trade show will be held from May 31st to June 4th this year and at this event Asus is expected to showcase its new series of smartphones.
In the 34 second teaser, Asus hinted towards three Zenfone 3 devices. The two devices are expected to be Zenfone 3 and Zenfone 3 Deluxe while the third is said to be Zenfone 3 Max. As per the video the devices will be announced on May 30.
Asus’s chief executive officer Jerry Shen had also said that the company will launch three smartphones in June. He had then also revealed that the Zenfone 3 smartphones will be available in the mid-range segment and the phones will be available in six countries this upcoming August.
Last month, Asus Zenfone 3 and Zenfone 3 Deluxe were found listed on Red Dot website.
According to the site’s description, the Zenfone 3 has 2.5D glass on the front and back with a curved aluminum frame. As per the site, the device has a USB Type-C port, a fingerprint sensor, laser autofocus and dual tone LED flash for the camera. There’s also support for an optional Smart Flip Cover. As per the images, the Zenfone 3 will come in gold, silver and black colour options.
In the website, there was an image of Zenfone 3 Deluxe as per which the device has a physical button below the display, a side lock button and a front LED flash. It seems to have a full metal body.
Back in January, two alleged ZenFone 3 smartphones were spotted at benchmark listings and were codenamed Z010DD and Z012D. According to the GFXBench benchmark listing, the Asus Z010DD has a 5.9-inch HD (1280Ã—720 pixel) IPS display, 1.5 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The smartphone listed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system, ofcourse along with ZenUI. Furthermore, as per the listing, the handset has a 12-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera, Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi, accelerometer, compass, light sensor and proximity sensor.
On the other hand, Asus Z012D was listed with 5.5-inch FHD (1920×1080 pixel) IPS display, the 1.7 GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor, 3GB RAM, Adreno 510 GPU and 32GB of storage of internal storage. It too was listed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with ZenUI, Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi, accelerometer, barometer, compass, gyroscope, light sensor, pedometer and proximity sensor. However, there was no information about its rear or front camera.
