Taiwanese company Asus is preparing for its event in Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January next year. The Asus event will be named as Zennovation for which the company has now even started sending out the press invites.
The invite, however, does not say anything about the name of the device to be unveiled at the event. But it is expected that Asus would be announcing a flagship smartphone with high-end specifications as the invite comes with mention of Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC. And as per reports, the device will be powered by Snapdragon 835.
Moreover, Asus has also announced the event on its official website and has started a countdown through a dedicated web page which will end on January 4. The event will start at 11:30am on January 4, 2017, in Caesars Palace, Las Vegas.
Besides, recently Asus chairman, Jerry Shen revealed that the company will be unveiling its first smartphone that supports the requirements of Project Tango Google through Augmented Reality at the CES event. So, it is expected that Asus will launch its first AR-enabled smartphone which will be unveiled at CES 2017. He further confirmed that the Zenfone AR will come with improved functionality and high performance at the competitive price.
For those who are unaware, Tango (formerly named Project Tango in testing) is a technology platform developed and authored by Google that uses computer vision to enable mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets, to detect their position relative to the world around them without using GPS or other external signals.
