Remember those tiny, wireless earphones of Apple, called Airpods? Well, the US-based company is now working on the second iteration of the device which could be launched in the second half of next year, a report has claimed.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo was quoted as saying this by the 9to5Mac. The analyst also claimed that Apple is facing a shortage of AirPods. “The Apple Online Store has run out of stock through the end of the year, with current orders estimated to be delivered in early January,” the website added.
Hence, Apple may double the shipments of AirPods to 26 million units, the analyst said. The first version of AirPod was released along with iPhone 7 last year.
Apple is also expected to launch a device called HomePod which would compete with that of Amazon Echo and Google Home. Ofcourse, Apple will launch more phones and a new wireless battery charger is also expected next year.
