Apple sued over the iPhone 6 screen freeze issue: AFP

Apple allegedly knew about this defect but still it went on to sell the product in the market.

According to a report by Agence France-Presse, A lawsuit has been filed in Silicon Valley federal court accusing Apple of knowingly selling defective iPhone 6. The lawsuit filed over the weekend claims that the iPhone 6 screens freezes and stops responding to touch and Apple knew about this defect still it went on to sell the product in the market.

“This action arises from Apple’s concealment of a material design defect that causes the touchscreens on the iPhones to become unresponsive and fail for their essential purpose as smartphones,” the civil complaint contended, as mentioned in the report by AFP.

Moreover, the lawsuit has also accused the company to refuse to repair iPhones free of charge despite knowing that it’s a manufacturing defect. To go more deep, the lawsuit says that the touchscreen handling chips were not installed properly and were not secured to logic boards which results in failure with due course of time.

“The internet is replete with examples of blogs and other websites where consumers have complained of the exact same Touchscreen Defect within the iPhones,” the complaint maintained, AFP.

To summarise, the lawsuit accuses the company of being fraud and has conducted breach of warranty and also demands unspecified cash damaged coupled with the attorney’s fees. It also demands Apple to repair, recall or replace the iPhones with the issue and have warned customers using iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus about this issue across the United States.

Apple is planning to introduce manufacturing unit in India, until then it’s more likely that you iPhone will get be replaced and not repaired.
