It is believed that the extra lens on the 2019 iPhone would help it to achieve 5x optical zoom. This would be interesting as currently, the iPhones including iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 7 Plus can only achieve 2x optical zoom.

Apple is reportedly working on a new iPhone model that could bear three cameras at the back. The company might launch the next iPhone with a triple lens in the second half of next year.

The information comes from the Taipei Times, citing a research note from Yuanta Securities analyst Jeff Pu. If the reports are believed to be true, then the 2019 model of iPhone could boast a similar camera setup as we have seen in Huawei P20 Pro.

To give you a reference, the Huawei P20 Pro is world’s smartphone that comes loaded with a triple lens at the back. The smartphone features a 40-megapixel primary RGB sensor, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens for 3x and a 20-megapixel sensor.

Meanwhile, according to a report by Patently Apple, the Cupertino-based giant could use LG’s next-generation MLCD+ display on its 2018 iPhone model. This is the same display, which is present in the latest LG G7 ThinQ smartphone. The new display will surely help 2018 iPhone models to deliver some enhanced brightness and colour experience. LG claims that its new display offers 1000 nits of brightness and the screen is 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut.
