Good news for Nexus and Pixel users, as Google has started rolling out the latest Android 8.0 Oreo for the supported devices.
According to a report by GSMArena, all the Google devices including Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player and Pixel C tablet are receiving the update. Meanwhile, the company has also listed the OTA file of the latest update on its website and one can download it for side-loading. Moreover, users who opted to Android Beta Program are also receiving the Android Oreo update. Just yesterday, Verizon started rolling out the build of Oreo to Pixel and Pixel XL units and it seems that all the major carriers across the globe are receiving the latest updates.
Google has made some changes in the build number of the devices. The build number is OPR6.170623.012 for the Pixel and Pixel XL, while Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X has a build number OPR6.170623.013 is for Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X. The OTA file update is also available Pixel C tablet as well which was released in December 2015. Build number for the Pixel C with Android 8.0 Oreo is OPR6.170623.010. To recall, the company officially unveiled its latest Android 8.0 Oreo on August 21 during the solar eclipse in the US.
The company has included most of the features, which it revealed during its annual developer conference. To start with, there is a picture-in-picture mode that lets users to two tasks simultaneously. So, for example, one can minimise a YouTube video while sending a text message or writing an email.
