Android Nougat update rolled out for Lenovo K6 Power, K6 Note

The smartphones were launched last year with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.

Lenovo has rolled out the latest Nougat 7.0 update for K6 Power and K6 Note smartphones in India. The smartphones were launched last year with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. Lenovo K6 Power is available in leading retail outlets and online portals for Rs 9,999 for the 3GB variant and 10999 for the 4GB variant. Lenovo K6 Note is available across leading retail stores at Rs 13,999.

The company advises you to update when the battery in your phone is at least 50% charged and you are connected to a Wi-Fi network. Since the update is being rolled out over-the-air, it may take some time before it comes to your device. One can also manually check for the update by going to Settings ->About Phone -> Software Update.

Talking about some of the interesting Android Nougat features, the Android version brings in a bunch of new features including split-screen multi-tasking, more customisable quick settings, better battery life, improved Google keyboard, enhanced notifications and recent applications window. Further, the latest Android OS version also brings in ‘Double Tap’ on the Recent button to switch between the two most recent apps which come in very handy at times. For extended battery life, Android Nougat comes with ‘Doze on the go’ which will get activated even if your Nougat running device is in your pocket.

As far as specifications are concerned, Lenovo K6 Power has a metal unibody design and features a 5-inch full (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display. The K6 Power is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, along with Adreno 505 GPU. It comes with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable memory up to 128GB via card. The smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. The Lenovo’s Pure now supports dual apps feature as well as long screenshots. It gets its juices from powerful 4000mAh battery, which claims to offer 649 hours of standby time. The battery comes with an ultimate power saver mode which helps the battery to last 3 times longer.

The K6 Power also houses a fingerprint scanner, which is integrated on its back panel. The company claims that the fingerprint sensor can unlock the phone in just 0.3 seconds and can also be used to lock individual apps. On the camera front, the smartphone flaunts a 13-megapixel primary camera with Flash, Sony IMX258 sensor and PDAF. On its front, it has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. The smartphone also supports TheaterMax technology. Besides, the smartphone offers Dual SIM, VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), 4.1, GPS, a microUSB port OTG with reverse charging option, and Dolby Atmos audio. The handset measures 141.9 x 70.3 x 9.3 mm and weighs 145 grams.

Lenovo K6 Note features a 5.5-inch full HD display with (1080×1920 pixels) resolution. It is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 and Adreno 505 GPU. The K6 Note comes in two variants – 3GB and 4GB RAM. The K6 Note runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and comes with a 4000 battery, two of the most notable improvements over the K5. Besides, the Lenovo K6 Note offers 32GB of internal storage and 128 micro SD card slot.

The Lenovo K6 Note boasts a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and an 8-megapixel front shooter. For connectivity the smartphone has 4G/LTE, WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac), micro-USB port, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS/A-GPS.
