Sony has rolled out the latest Android Nougat update for its Xperia XA Ultra smartphone. However, the update has just been rolled out in the Turkey for now but we expect it to soon be available for other regions as well. Sony Xperia XA Ultra was launched in India last year in 2016 with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The smartphone comes in three different colours – White, Graphite Black and Lime Gold.
The over-the-air update bears the firmware number 36.1.A.0.179 and currently said to be available for F3211 (Europe) and F3212 (dual sim) model number devices. The variants for Asia and the U.S. are also expected to get the update soon.
Android Nougat brings in a bunch of new features including split-screen multitasking, more customisable quick settings, improved Google keyboard, enhanced notifications, and recent applications window. Further, the latest Android OS version also brings in ‘Double Tap’ on the Recent button to switch between the two most recent apps which come in very handy at times. For extended battery life, Android Nougat comes with ‘Doze on the go’ which will get activated even if your Nougat running device is in your pocket.
The USP of this smartphone is its camera module – a 16-megapixel front shooter that comes with Sony Exmor R sensor, Front flash, OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), Low light photography capabilities. On the back, it has a 21.5-megapixel snapper with Exmor RS sensor, LED flash, Quick launch, and Hybrid Auto-Focus to freeze the action in a bright, blur-free shot.
The Sony Xperia XA Ultra features a big 6-inch Full HD (1080p) curved display with pixel density of 367ppi. The display comes with Mobile BRAVIA engine 2 and Super Vivid mode. It is powered by a 64 bit 2.0 GHz octa-core MediaTek (MT6755) processor, which is paired with 3GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and expandable up-to 200GB via microSD card. The Xperia XA Ultra runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and gets its strength from 2700 mAh battery, which claims of offer up-to 2 days battery life, when fully charged.
Besides, the Xperia XA Ultra offers Dual SIM, 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, DLNA, and GPS/aGPS. The handset measures 164.2 x 79.4 x 8.4mm and weighs around 190 grams.
