Android Nougat rolled out for Huawei Honor 5C

The update brings VoLTE support for 4G network in India.

As we reported earlier, Huawei has rolled out the latest Android Nougat 7.0 update for its Honor 5C smartphone in India. The update has NEM-L22 C675B310 as the built number and also brings VoLTE support for network in India.

Do keep in mind that before you go for the downloading the update, check that battery of your smartphone has atleast 50% charge aand 2GB of free space is available. Since the update is being rolled out over-the-air, it may take some time before it comes to your device. One can also manually check for the update by going to Settings ->About Phone -> Software Update.

Apart from that, Android Nougat brings in other features including split-screen multitasking, more customisable quick settings, improved Google keyboard, enhanced notifications and recent applications window. Further, the latest Android OS version also brings in ‘Double Tap’ on the Recent button to switch between the two most recent apps which come in very handy at times. For extended battery life, Android Nougat comes with ‘Doze on the go’ which will get activated even if your Nougat running device is in your pocket. The new update will bring a host of new features to the smartphone along with EMUI 5.0. The new version brings the much-needed drawer and Huawei claims that EMUI 5.0 learns on its own.

To recall, the Honor 5C features a 5.2-inch full (1920 x 1080p) display, Kirin 650 chipset, 2GB of RAM. and 16GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 on top of it and is backed up by a 3000 non-removable battery.

For the photography, the smartphone has a 13-megapixel primary camera at the back with Dual tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, and an 8-megapixel selfie camera with 77 degrees lens is on its front panel. On the connectivity front, the smartphone offers Dual (Dual standby),4G LTE with voLTE support, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), 4.1, GPS with and a MicroUSB 2.0 port. The smartphone also has a fingerprint sensor 2.0 on the back panel and houses dual stereo speakers at the bottom on the phone. The handset measures 147.1 x73.8 x 8.3 mm and weighs 156 grams.
