Amazon 10.or D vs Flipkart Billion Capture+

Amazon is launching its 10. or D today in 2 GB and 3 GB models and is most likely to be priced under Rs 10,000.

UPDATED: After giving Flipkart a run for its money, Amazon is back with a new challenge for the Indian e-retailer. Amazon is now set to launch a new handset, just about a month after Flipkart launched its Billion Capture+. This is the 3rd smartphone that Amazon is launching in India under the brand name 10.or (pronounced as tenor).

The new smartphone is called as 10.or D on December 20. Meanwhile, the specs of the phone have been leaked online today, thanks to its listing on Amazon itself. So let’s check out what Amazon is set to offer and how it looks like in comparison to the Flipkart phone.

Design and Display

The 10.or D looks quite thick with a plastic back panel which is little curved and that’s why it should be quite easy to hold. A round fingerprint sensor is in the back panel, above which lies around camera and a tiny flash light. In the front, there seems to be a mic and the front camera while the command keys are placed on the screen and not in the bezel. As of now only a black colour model is listed on the phone and it seems quite bland. The Amazon 10.or has a 5.2 inch touchscreen that offers high definition resolution.

The Flipkart Billion Capture+ looks much better (at least in the pictures) with a sleek metal body. The top and bottom parts of the phone are removable so though it looks like a unibody phone, it isn’t. In short, it is sturdy and looks a bit premium. The Billion Capture+ has a bigger 5.5 inch IPS screen with full resolution.

Other Features

The Amazon 10.or D is powered by the 1.4 GHz Snapdragon 425 quad core processor. The 64-bit with Cortex A53 comes with Qualcomm 308 GPU. On the other hand, the Billion Capture+ has 2 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 64-bit processor. There are 2 and 3 GB variants but the Flipkart phone has 3 GB and 4 GB models which cost Rs 11,999 and Rs 13,999 respectively. Currently, they are available for Rs 10,999 and Rs 12,999 respectively.

The 2 GB and 3 GB modes of the Amazon phone come with 16 GB and 32 GB internal storages while the Flipkart phone has 32 GB and 64 GB, models.

Both the phones come with 3500 battery. Considering that the Amazon handset has a smaller screen, it must offer better battery power. As per Amazon, the 10.or D offers 70 hours of MP3 playback time, up to 25 hours of talktime or up to 10 hours on the internet. Flipkart claims its phone offers 30 hours of calls over a network or 12 hours of online video streaming.

The Amazon phone also comes with Dirac speaker, FM Radio and OTG support as well. However, not much is known at this point in time so it is difficult to say how exactly it fares against the Billion Capture+.

The 10.or D has a 13 rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. The Flipkart phone has 13 megapixel camera both in the front and rear.

As per latest information, Amazon 10.or D costs Rs 4,999 for its 2 GB model and Rs 5,999 for the 3 GB model.

Clearly, the price difference between the two products are too huge and hence are not comparable. If you want a cheap phone with good specs, you can consider the Amazon phone and if you have more, go for the Flipkart handset.
