MWC 2017: Lenovo introduces its new Tab 4 series, Miix 320, Yoga 720 and 520 notebooks

The Tab 4 Series tablets include - Lenovo Tab 4 8, Lenovo Tab 4 10, Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus, Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus.

After launching the Moto G5 and G5 Plus, Lenovo has now introduced a bunch of other products in tech space at the Mobile World Congress. The company unveiled its new Tab 4 Series tablets along with Miix 320 2-in1 detachable notebook and Yoga series of convertible laptops. The Tab 4 Series tablets include – Lenovo Tab 4 8, Lenovo Tab 4 10, Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus, Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus. Whereas, the Lenovo Yoga series of convertibles included a 13-inch Yoga 720, 15-inch Yoga 720 and a 14-inch Yoga 520. Let’s break this entire lineup of notebooks and tablets revealed at this year’s MWC 2017.

Lenovo Tab 4 Series Tablets

Lenovo Tab 4 8 and Tab 4 10 comes with a sleek casing which the company claims can deliver both durability and style. Both the tablets come with Dolby Atmos audio technology for enhancing the audio experience over both headphones and built-in speakers. As evident from the name, the Tab 4 8 comes with an 8-inch display while the Tab 4 10 comes with a 10-inch HD display. On the inside, we get Quad-Core Snapdragon chipsets coupled with 2GB of RAM.

On the other hand the Tab 4 8 Plus and Tab 4 10 Plus comes with a glass design both at the front and back with a layer of protective glass, which combines with its ultra-slim and light profile—between 7.15mm and 8.4mm in thickness for stunning aesthetics. On the inside, the Tab 4 8 Plus and Tab 4 10 Plus features a 64-bit Octa-Core 2.0GHz processor, featuring up to 4GB RAM and 32GB storage. We also get Type-C, a fingerprint quick-login, Quick CHarge 3.0 and a Full HD display on the Plus variants.

Lenovo claims that all the four tablets comes with a 12-hour long battery life and run on 7.0 operating system. All the tablets come with multi-accounts functionality and each individual user further has the choice of further tailoring the tablet for their own needs, with optional Kid’s and Productivity Packs.

The Kids pack will turn any of the above-mentioned Tab 4 tablet into a children’s tablet by putting in adequate content inside, safety tools and advanced parental control. The content here is carefully picked by KIDOZ. On the other hand, the Productivity pack brings in a keyboard that also doubles as a protective sleeve and stand making the tablet a 2-in-1 Android product. The keyboard integrates with the built-in productivity interface, which features a taskbar and instant switching, support for multiple windows and optimization for mouse and keyboard operations.

Pricing and Availability: The Tab 4 8 and Tab 4 10 comes with State Black and Polar White while the Tab 4 8 Plus and Tab 4 10 Plus comes with Sparkling White or Aurora Black colour options. The Tab 4 8 and Tab 4 10 will cost you €169 (approx. Rs 12,000) and €179 (approx. Rs 12,600), respectively while the Tab 4 8 Plus will sell for €259 (approx. Rs 18,000) and the Tab 4 10 Plus at €299 (approx. Rs 21,000) globally starting this May on Lenovo’s official website and partner stores all around the world.

Lenovo Miix 320 Detachable Notebook

Lenovo Miix 320 is a detachable notebook which is extremely lightweight and comes with Windows 10 onboard. The notebook features a 10.1-inch Full HD (1920 x 1200) touchscreen display weighing only 550g. For the audio, we get Dolby’s Advanced Audio speakers and the device also comes with Windows Continuum which helps automatically adapt it to laptop or tablet mode – making the multimode transitions seamless. Digging inside, we get Intel Atom X5 combined with 4GB RAM, 128 eMMC storage and Intel HD graphics. Lenovo also claims that the device comes with a 10-hour long battery life. With the keyboard, the laptop is only 17.5mm thin and weighs 1.02 kg. In terms of connectivity, the Miix 320 notebook comes with built-in Wi-Fi and optional dual connectivity.

Price and Availability: The Miix 320 (with Keyboard, Wi-Fi only variant) is priced at Euro 269 (approx. Rs 19,000) and the LTE variant is priced at Euro 399 (approx. Rs 28,000) starting April 2017. On the other hand, the Miix 320 with Active Pen support and Microsoft Office 365 (12 months) will be available for purchase starting July 2017 on Lenovo’s website.

Lenovo Yoga 720 and Yoga 520

Apart from the Tab 4 series of tablets and Miix 320 notebook, the Chinese multinational also introduced its Yoga 720 and Yoga 520 2-in-1 notebooks. Lenovo claims that both these notebooks is ideal for multitaskers who want to effortlessly switch between budgeting on a spreadsheet with full keyboard in laptop mode to sharing a video in tent mode.

The Yoga 720 comes in 13-inch and 15-inch size variants. The 13-inch variant is and 17 percent thinner than before at 14.3mm and weighs at 1.3 kgs. The 14-inch Yoga 520 is also thinner and lighter than before at just 19.9mm and weighs 1.74 kgs. On the other hand, the 15-inch Yoga 720 promises a 9 hour long battery life with Full HD resolution, though both the Yoga 720 variants come with IPS display (3840 x 2160) and ultra-narrow bezels. While the Yoga 520 can delivery a 10 hour long battery life for Full HD consumption.

On the inside, both the Yoga 720 and Yoga 520 comes with latest 7th Gen Intel Core i7 processors and Windows 10. The bigger, 17-inch Yoga 720 being the most powerful one also sports a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 discrete graphic card and blazing-fast Thunderbolt 3 for the fast data transfers. The 17-inch Yoga 720 also has has JBL® speakers with Dolby Audio Premium to deliver top-notch audio experience.

Apart from this, both the Yoga 720 and 520 also comes with an optional pen for editing, note taking and sketching on Windows Ink. Lastly, we also have a fingerprint scanner on the Yoga 720 while you also get an option to have it on the Yoga 520. With a touch of their finger, users can swiftly and securely log onto their new Yoga convertibles through Windows Hello.

Pricing and Availability: The 13-inch Yoga 720 starts at €999 (approx. Rs 70,500) and the 15-inch variant starts at €1,099 (approx. Rs 77,500) and will be available for purchase starting in April 2017. As of now, the Yoga 720 color options are Platinum Silver, Iron Grey and Copper (on the 13-inch model only).

Meanwhile, the Yoga 520 (14-inch) starts at €599 (approx. Rs 42,200) available beginning in July 2017 in Mineral Grey and Onyx Black colour options.
