Those who are currently in a Chemistry class, or need to join one or just want to revise their Chemistry knowledge would love to have the Periodic Table application from Socratica on their Android phones.
The app shows the details of a random element when the users tap on the “Learn” button. The details of the elements include thermodynamic, material, electromagnetic, atomic, reactivity, and nuclear properties. Users can also discover the symbol of an element, atomic number and mass of it.
Whenever the users need to know about one particular element, they can go straight to that element with the help of the full periodic table — here the pinch to zoom functionality comes very handy for the users. The elements have been colour coded on the basis of the group they belong to. The users can also test their knowledge when they feel confident enough with what they have learned.
Overall, this is an excellent reference application which informs the users about more than 30 properties and facts about every element.
However, problem arises when the users scroll down the screen while answering the questions, which slows down the app experience. The user interface also does not look polished enough.
It’s good for the users that Period Table for Android is free currently.
