Smartphones to launch in September 2019

The months of September and October are known for being the busiest when it comes to technology. This year is no different as all major smartphone manufacturers are preparing to announce a smartphone or two (or in some case three). Here’s a list of smartphones that are expected to launch in September.

iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max

Apple has scheduled the launch of the next-generation iPhone 11 series on September 10. 2019 line of iPhones will be named as the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. iPhone 11 will feature a 6.1-inch LCD, iPhone 11 Pro will use a 5.8-inch OLED screen and the iPhone 11 Pro Max will feature a 6.5-inch OLED display. All iPhones will be powered by Apple A13 7nm chip with up to 6GB of (4GB on iPhone 11) and up to 512GB storage. iPhone 11 will incorporate a dual 12MP + 12MP camera while the other two will use a triple 12MP + 12MP + 12MP setup at the back. All three iPhones will feature a 12MP lens on the front with support for Face ID, WiFi 6 and Bilateral wireless charging. Apple will offer Pencil support for iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max.

Mate 30 series

Huawei has confirmed that the Mate 30 series will be unveiled at an event on September 19 in Munich, Germany. The series will launch the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro, both powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 990 processor. The phones will feature a 90Hz display, Balong 5000 for 5G connectivity, in-display fingerprint scanner, 4,200mAh battery and 55W fast wired charging support. The Mate 30 Pro will use two similar 40MP sensors, an 8MP shooter for telephoto zoom and a ToF sensor for background blur, all housed at the back. There will be a 32MP camera on the front for selfies.

OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro

OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro smartphones are expected to launch in India on September 26. Both phones will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor with up to 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. There will be a triple rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary sensor, 16-megapixel secondary sensor, and a 12-megapixel camera. For the front, there will be a 16-megapixel sensor. OnePlus 7T is said to sport a 6.55-inch Quad SUPER AMOLED 90Hz screen. Both phones will come running 10 and will support Warp Charge 30T (5V/6A) fast charging.

Nokia 7.2/Nokia 6.2

HMD Global has scheduled its IFA 2019 event on September 5 in Berlin for the launch of the Nokia 7.2. Nokia 7.2 will feature a 6.18-inch full-HD+ display with HDR10 support, a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels and a U-shaped waterdrop notch. It will be powered by either Snapdragon 660 or Snapdragon 710 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The phone is expected to be fueled by a 3,500mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge support. For the camera, the Nokia 7.2 consists of a 48MP Zeiss Optics primary lens, a 120-degree lens and an unknown third sensor with an LED flash unit. There will also be a similar-looking Nokia 6.2 at the event with a 20MP main camera and Snapdragon 660 SoC.

Vivo NEX 3 5G

Vivo NEX 3 5G is set to arrive in China on September 16. The phone will feature a 6.89-inch Full with a screen resolution of 2256 x 1080 pixels. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor along with with Adreno 640 GPU, Snapdragon X50 chip for 5G connectivity. The Vivo NEX 3 5G will come with a triple camera setup of 64MP primary + 13MP sensor + 13MP lens. For the front, the NEX 3 5G will feature a 16MP camera. The smartphone is likely to come with a pop-up selfie camera. It will be backed up by 4500mAh battery with 44W support. The phone will have 8GB /12GB of RAM variants with 28GB, 256GB and 512GB of internal storage.

Honor 20S

Honor has scheduled a launch event on September 4 in China for the Honor 20S smartphone. The device could feature a 6.26-inch full-HD+ display with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution. It is expected to be powered by a 2.6GHz octa-core processor with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Honor 20S is said to be equipped with a triple rear camera setup with 48MP main camera, 8MP sensor, and a 2MP sensor. For the front, the phone will have a 32MP sensor. It will run on Android Pie and it will come with a 3,650mAh battery with 20W fast charging support.

Realme Q

Realme will launch a Q-series smartphone on September 5 in China. The Realme Q will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 AIE processor with up to 8GB of RAM and 128 internal storage. The device will feature a 4035mAh battery and it will support 20W VOOC flash charge. Realme Q will employ a 48MP primary camera made by Sony and will be a rebranded version of the Realme 5 Pro to sell in China.

Samsung Galaxy M30s

Samsung will be launching its Galaxy M30s smartphone in India on September 18. The smartphone will be exclusively made available through Flipkart and will feature a 6000mAh battery, sAMOLED display and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. There will be a 6.4-inch FHD+ display with 2400 x 1080 pixel resolution and the smartphone will be powered by a 1.74GHz octa-core Exynos 9610 processor with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The Galaxy M30s will house a triple rear camera setup – 48MP + 5MP + 8MP. On the front, the Galaxy M30s will have a 16MP sensor. The device will run on Android 9 Pie with One on top.

Samsung Galaxy Fold

Samsung is planning to schedule the release of its Galaxy Fold smartphone later this month by re-announcing the device on September 6 and later shipping pre-orders. The Galaxy Fold is powered by a Snapdragon 855 7nm with 12GB of RAM and 512GB storage. The Fold has two screens, a 4.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED (21:9) cover display on the front and a 7.3-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED tablet screen with 4.2:3 aspect ratio when the phone is unfolded. It has a total of six cameras onboard. Primary setup includes a 12MP + 12MP + 16MP module at the back, a 10MP selfie camera on the cover and 10MP + depth sensor setup above the unfolded display. The device runs on Android 9 Pie with One UI on top and is backed by a 4,380mAh battery.

Huawei Mate X foldable smartphone

The Huawei Mate X is set to be re-announced as well this month but the phone will have certain modifications. For starters, the Mate X will be powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 990 processor which itself is set to debut this month at IFA 2019. The foldable phone will also equip an improved camera setup, similar to Huawei’s P30 Pro. The new camera unit on the Mate X will rely on RYYB instead of RGB to capture bright and realistic photos across any lighting condition. Besides that, Mate X has a unique 3-way foldable design. When its folded, the smartphone it converts to a 6.38-inch display at the back and a 6.6-inch display on the front with a resolution of 2480 x 892 pixels and 2480 x 1148 pixels respectively. When the phone is wide open, it doubles up as a tablet with an 8-inch OLED screen having a resolution of 2480 x 2200 pixels.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 4

Xiaomi is expected to announce its Mi Mix 4 and Mi 9s smartphones on September 24 in Shanghai, China. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 will feature the world’s first 108MP sensor manufactured by Samsung. The device is expected to be powered by 2.96GHz octa-core Snapdragon 855+ processor with up to 12GB RAM and 1TB storage. The phone will be backed up by a 4,500 mAh battery that might support 30W fast charge. It’s expected to feature a quad-camera setup with a combination of the 108-megapixel main lens, a 16-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 12-megapixel lens and a periscope lens.

Lenovo K10 Note / A6 Note

Lenovo is all set to launch the Lenovo Z6 Pro, Lenovo K10 Note and Lenovo A6 Note in India on September 5. The Lenovo K10 Note features a 6.3-inch dewdrop notch display with 90 per cent screen-to-body ratio and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 710 processor with 4GB RAM. The device will feature a 16MP + 8MP + 5MP triple-lens setup at the back and a 16MP camera on the front. It will be loaded with a 4050mAh battery and it will support 18W fast charging support.

Huawei Enjoy 10 Plus

The Huawei Enjoy 10 Plus is coming on September 5. The Enjoy 10 Plus features a 6.59-inch full HD+ display with a 2340 x 1080 resolution and will be powered by a 2.2GHz Kirin 710 octa-core coupled with 4GB/6GB/8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The phone will run on Android 9.0 (Pie) with EMUI 9.1 out of the box and will be packed with 3,900mAh battery. The phone will feature triple rear cameras – 48MP + 8MP + 2MP and a 16MP pop-up selfie camera on the front.

Nubia Red Magic 3S

Nubia is launching the Red Magic 3S smartphone on September 5 in China. Nubia Red Magic 3S is expected in an upgrade over the original Nubia Red Magic 3 and will be powered by a Snapdragon 855 Plus processor with 12GB of RAM and 3.0 storage. The device will feature a display that supports a 90Hz refresh rate, 4D Vibration feedback and 3D surround sound.

Vivo Z1X

Vivo has confirmed that it will launch Vivo Z1X in India on September 6. The Vivo Z1X will be second Z-series smartphone after Vivo Z1 Pro which launched in India for a starting price of Rs 14,990. The Z1X will come with an in-display fingerprint sensor and is touted to feature a 6.38-inch Full HD+ AMOLED (2340 x 1080 pixels) display and a Snapdragon 712 processor. The upcoming Z-series smartphone is expected to be priced under Rs 20,000.

Lenovo Z6 Pro

Lenovo is launching the Lenovo Z6 Pro in India on September 5. The Lenovo Z6 Pro features a 6.39-inch Samsung AMOLED FHD+ display and will be powered by a Snapdragon 855 processor with Adreno 640 GPU and a 4000mAh non-removable battery with 27W super-fast charging. The device will feature an quad rear camera setup comprising of 48MP + 16MP + 8MP + 2MP and a 32MP selfie camera on the front. It will run on Android 9 Pie with Lenovo’s ZUI 11.

Nubia Z20

The Nubia Z20 was launched in China last month and The Mobile Indian learned that the device will go live in India by September end. The Nubia Z20 features a 6.42-inch AMOLED screen on the front and a 5.1-inch AMOLED display at the back. It’s powered by a Snapdragon 855 Plus with up to 8GB of RAM and 512GB storage. The device houses a 48MP + 16MP + 8MP triple cameras at the back for primary imaging and selfies. It comes packed with 4000mAh battery with 27W fast charging support and runs Android Pie and features Dual side-mounted fingerprint sensors.

Vivo V17 Pro

Vivo is also set to launch a new smartphone Vivo V17 Pro by the end of September. The Vivo V17 Pro will be the successor of Vivo V15 Pro and is expected to come with the quad-rear camera setup, dual selfie cameras and pop-up mechanism. The smartphone was earlier leaked as the official sponsor of Big Boss in India where the phone got a sneak peek in white colour.
