Coolpad has finally the first smartphone, the Cool 1, after LeEco acquired a controlling stake in the company. Priced at Rs , the smartphone will be available at starting from .
The smartphone was first launched in China and was named as Cool 1 Dual. The device came with three different configurations — a 3GB RAM+32GB internal storage model at 1099 Yuan (approx. Rs 10,700), a 4GB RAM+32GB internal storage model at 1499 Yuan (approx. Rs 14,600), and a 4GB RAM+64GB internal storage variant at 1699 Yuan (approx.Rs 16,600). However, the company has launched the 4GB RAM and 32GB storage variant in India.
The major highlight of the smartphone is the dual-camera setup on the back. The device comes with two 13-megapixel rear cameras with f/2.0 aperture, phase-detection Autofocus (PDAF), dual tone LED flash on the back. On the other hand, for the front, there is an 8-megapixel snapper with f/2.2 Aperture and 80-degree Wide-Angle lens for selfies and video calling.
The smartphone comes with a metal unibody design and sports a 5.5-inch Full HD in-cell display with a screen Resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The smartphone will be available in gold, silver and rose gold colour options.
On the hardware front, the phone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor, which is paired with Adreno 510 GPU. The device is backed by a 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with LeEco’s customised user interface EUI 5.8 on top of it. The smartphone is juiced up by a 4060mAh non-removable Lithium-ion battery with Fast charging technology.
On the connectivity front, the dual SIM device offers 4G with VoLTE, WiFi (802.11 ac/a/b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, USB Type-C port and 3.5mm audio jack.
Coolpad Cool 1 comes with a mirror-finished fingerprint sensor, which we have seen in LeEco devices. The handset measures 152 × 74.8 × 8.2mm and weighs 167 grams.
The dual-camera setup is now becoming a trend these days, with manufacturers like Apple, Huawei, Honor, Lenovo and LG, rolling out smartphones which come equipped with dual sensors. It would be interesting to whether Coolpad Cool 1 will be able to give a tough fight to its competitors.
