ZTE Axon 7 likely to launch on May 26, might have 2K display

The smartphone runs on Android Marshmallow and has a 3140 mAh battery.

ZTE is all set to release its next flagship smartphone on May 26. The company has started sending out media invites for an event to be held on May 26th, where it is expected to announce its Axon flagship device, which as per invite could be dubbed as Axon 7. However some media reports also suggest that the flagship smartphone will be named as Axon 2.

Last month, a phone with high-end specification with model name ZTE A2017 was spotted on GFXbench and the website of Chinese certification agency TENAA. As per reports, the smartphone with model name ZTE A2017 would be ZTE’s next Axon series flagship device, probably the Axon 7 itself.

As per listing, the ZTE A2017 features a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) OLED display. It is fueled by a 2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor, which is paired with Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, and an expandable storage slot of up to 128GB capacity. The smartphone runs on 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and is backed up by a 3140 non-removable battery.

The ZTE A2017 has a 20-megapixel shooter with Dual LED flash on the back panel, and an 8-megapixel selfie camera on the front. Besides, the smartphone offers LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, Fingerprint sensor, USB port, Bluetooth, and GPS. The upcoming device measures 154 x 77 x 9.8mm, and weighs 175 grams, as per the listing.
