Lu Weibing has posted four names on its official Weibo account and asked all the citizens to choose one of the name for upcoming Redmi Snapdragon 855 flagship device.
Xiaomi is all set to launch its latest Redmi Snapdragon 855 flagship smartphone tomorrow. Till now company has not revealed the name of the smartphone, but today Xiaomi's Group Vice President, Lu Weibing, posted four names on its official Weibo account and has asked netizens to choose one of the names for upcoming Redmi Snapdragon 855 flagship device just a day before the launch. It seems like a stunt to get the eyeballs because a day before the launch any mobile brand doesn't decide on the name of the device.
The given names by Weibing are Redmi X20, Redmi P20, Redmi K20, and Redmi T20. The post reads "How should the Redmi flagship be named? We have also considered it for a long time. Here are some candidates for the name. Would you like to hear your opinions and feedback, is it the same as my heart? Tomorrow announced the name of the Redmi flagship[heart]".
We have reported a few days back that alleged three images with naming Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi P20 Pro and Redmi X20 Pro showing few specifications of Redmi flagship device were doing rounds on the internet. And all three images had the same specifications and their authenticity couldn't be verified.
As per the images, the phone is said to have a 6.39-inch Full AMOLED display with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SOC. On the front, it shows 20-megapixel Pop-up selfie AI camera, while on the back, would have a triple rear camera setup with Sony's IMX586 48-megapixel super wide-angle as the primary sensor. Further, the images show that the phone would be backed up by a 4000mAh battery.
Recently, Weibing said that the company has been working on three significant areas of pain which arises while playing games on the phone, which is a break, delay/de-current, and frequency reduction. This suggests the upcoming flagship device will be optimised for gaming. Further, in another post, he revealed that Xiaomi 9 and Xiaomi MIX3 would be getting the taste of Android Q Beta program and hinted that the flagship device would also be getting Android Q beta brush pack.
A few days back, Lu Weibing shared a screenshot of a phone, which revealed that the Redmi Snapdragon 855 flagship smartphone would have an in-display fingerprint sensor. Further, he also added that had been satisfied by the battery life of the Redmi flagship phone and the battery performance of the smartphone has exceeded his expectations. In an earlier post, he confirmed that smartphone would come equipped with an ultra wide-angle lens and will retain 3.5mm audio jack with supports of NFC as well.
As per earlier leaks and reports, the Redmi's upcoming flagship device said to come equipped with Snapdragon 855 chipset alongside 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The smartphone might sport a triple rear camera set up with a combination of a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP secondary sensor and 13MP third sensor. Moreover, the smartphone is said to house an in-display fingerprint sensor and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
