November 11 is a popular day for e-commerce in China as it is called as the Double 11 (11.11). Xiaomi is rumoured to introduce up to three smartphones in the market on that day, including the Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi 5 Plus. Both the smartphones have already appeared in various leaks. Now a couple of real-life images of the alleged Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus have surfaced online on Chinese microblogging website, Weibo via GizmoChina. The photos show the smartphone’s front and back design.
It is expected that the Redmi 5 Plus will be the first of the three new devices to be introduced ahead of the 11.11 deal day. The leaked images show the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus with a full-screen display and minimal bezels with 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone has no bezels on the sides of its display, while the top and bottom bezels are extremely thin.
The leaked images show that the top bezel houses the selfie camera and the earpiece while the bottom bezel is seen empty. On the right side of the smartphone, there is a power button and the volume rocker. There is also a circular fingerprint sensor at the center on the back of device below the camera module.
As far as specifications are concerned, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus smartphone is said to feature a 5.9-inch full HD+ display with a possible 18:9 aspect ratio, and a Snapdragon 625 SoC or Snapdragon 450 SoC. It will possibly launch in two variants of 3GB RAM with 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. The smartphone is expected to sport a dual rear camera setup, which could be a combination of a 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel cameras. The smartphone will run Android Nougat based MIUI 9 and it will be backed up by 4000 mAh battery. The basic version of the Redmi 5 Plus is expected to be priced at 799 Yuan which is approximately Rs 7,800.
