HTC has announced a special edition of its One S smartphone with 64 GB on-board storage. This HTC One S Special Edition smartphone comes in white colour and also has more storage compared to the older One S model (32 GB).
However, this new smartphone has the same specifications as the regular HTC One S model. This new One S Special Edition has been priced to about $615 (Rs 32,600 approximately).
As the first One S, this special edition smartphone features a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Display built using Gorilla Glass technology for strength and will support 960×540 pixel resolution natively. The One S SE (Special Edition) measures 7.8 mm slim and has the same unibody clamshell design.
HTC One S Special Edition also has the dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 mobile processor and 1 GB RAM as the older device but has 64 GB on-board storage. That is really important since it does not offer any memory expansion slot. Alternatively, users can sign up or log in to Dropbox from this phone and get free 25 GB storage for about two years.
At the rear, the One S Special Edition has an 8 megapixel camera with LED and BSI sensor for better low light performance. It also has HTC ImageSense chip for sharper images. The back camera is capable of recording full 1080p HD videos at 30 frames per second. There is also a front facing VGA quality camera for video calls. HTC has added a zero shutter lag offering camera App which is fast and offers clicking still images while recording videos.
HTC has integrated the Beats Audio technology for crisp and clearer audio output. Other features include Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX, WiFi, DLNA, MHL, micro USB port and a 1650 mAh non-removable battery.
The HTC One S Special Edition will run Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense 4+ user interface. That means the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update can be expected any time by the end of this month. This new One S Special Edition has been announced for Taiwan at this moment.
