Vodafone has launched a new “My News” service in Delhi/NCR which lets subscribers read the daily newspaper on their handsets.

The Vodafone My News subscription service is available for Rs 5 per day or a weekly subscription of Rs 35. Depending on their individual needs and interests, prepaid and postpaid customers can choose one newspaper from a choice of 30 regional or national newspapers. The subscription service can be activated by sending an — MYNEWS — on 111.

“My News” is an auto renewal service and can be deactivated by sending an SMS — CAN MYNEWS — to 111.

However, for most smartphone users this service is not of much use and is also costly at the same time as applications like Magzter offer a much wider choice that too for free.
