Tecno Camon 12 Air: From Redmi Note 8 Pro to Realme 5, here are its competition!

Let’s take a closer look at the competition of the Tecno Camon 12 Air.

Tecno recently unveiled its latest budget-centric smartphone, the Tecno Camon 12 Air in India. The smartphone comes with a price tag of Rs 9,999 and it is available for purchase from offline channels across the country.

With this, Tecno has brought a segment-first feature of punch-hole design under Rs 10,000. The smartphone comes loaded with an interesting design language and it is loaded with decent specs. To start with, the Tecno Camon 12 Air is loaded with a 6.55-inch display along with MediaTek Helio P22 chipset. The phone is backed by 4GB of and 64GB of internal storage.

On the camera front, the Tecno Camon 12 Air is loaded with a triple-camera setup which comes with a combination of 16-megapixel primary lens, a 5-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For the front, it is loaded with an 8-megapixel shooter. The phone runs on 4,000mAh battery and it is equipped with 9.0 Pie with the company’s custom Hi OS 5.5 running on top of it. The company has tried to give you some good specifications at this price point, however, the competition is really tough in this price segment. So, without wasting much time, let’s take a closer look at the competition of the Tecno Camon 12 Air.

To start with the first device in this, Redmi Note 8 from Xiaomi is a direct competition of Camon 12 Air. The Redmi Note 8 comes with a price tag of Rs 9,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage option, while the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage option is priced at Rs 12,999.

The smartphone comes loaded with a quad-camera setup as compared to the triple-camera setup found in the Camon 12 Air. However, the latter still has the advantage of a punch-hole design that gives a better screen-to-body ratio as compared to the former. That said, the Redmi Note 8 offers you better screen as it loaded with a 6.39-inch Full HD+ display.

The Redmi Note 8 turns out to be a better device when it comes to overall performance. The smartphone is powered by a Snapdragon 665 11nm coupled with Adreno 610 GPU. It has an quad rear camera setup with 48-megapixel as the primary camera with f/1.79 aperture, Samsung ISOCELL GM2 sensor, PDAF, EIS, an 8-megapixels 120 degree super wide-angle lens with 1.12 μm, a 2-megapixel macro lens with 1.75μm pixel size, f/2.4 and a 2-megapixels depth sensor. On the front, it has a 13-megapixel selfie shooter that supports AI beauty with f/2.0 aperture.

Another smartphone on this list is Realme 5. The smartphone comes with a price tag of 9,999 for the 3GB RAM variant, while the 4GB RAM option is priced at Rs 10,999. The Tecno Camon 12 Air is offering better RAM and storage configuration as compared to the one present in Realme 5. Both the smartphones features almost similar display and both of them offers the same HD+ resolution. The Realme 5 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor, which has an upper hand as compared to the Tecno Camon 12 Air.

The phone has a 12MP primary sensor with PDAF, f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel 119-degree wide-angle lens with f/2.25 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. For the front, the phone has a 13-megapixel sensor with AI beautification mode. The phone runs on Android 9 Pie operating system based on ColorOS 6.0 and it is backed up by a 5000mAh battery.

Coming to the Infinix S5, the smartphone comes with a price tag of Rs 8,999 and it is available in Quetzal Cyan and Violet colour options. The smartphone is yet another smartphone apart from Tecno Camon 12 Air that offers you a punch-hole design. Coming to the specifications, both the smartphones are loaded with an almost similar set of specifications.

The Infinix S5 comes equipped with 2.0Ghz octa-core Mediatek’s Helio P22 (12nm) processor. The phone has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, with an option to expand the storage up to 256GB via card. On the camera front, the Infinix S5 comes loaded with an AI Quad rear camera setup with 16-megapixels as the primary sensor, a 5MP Wide lens, Super macro lens and Depth sensor along with Quad-LED flash. For the front, there is a 32-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling. The phone gets the power from a 4000mAh battery and it runs on Android 9.0 Pie.

Next in the list is Vivo U10. The latest budget-centric smartphone from Vivo comes loaded with a host of interesting features. The smartphone comes in three variants – 3GB RAM with 32GB storage for Rs 8,999, 3GB RAM with 64GB storage for Rs 9,990 and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage priced at Rs 10,990.

The smartphone offers a smaller display as compared to the Tecno Camon 12 Air. The phone is loaded with a 6.35-inch HD+ display with a screen resolution of 1544 x 720 pixels and 89 per cent screen-to-body-ratio.

However, the Vivo U10 has an advantage of boasting a stronger processor. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor along with Adreno 610 GPU. On the camera front, it also features a triple-camera setup, which comes with a combination of 13-megapixel primary lens with f/2.2 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

For the front, the phone has an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. The Vivo U10 runs on Android 9.0 Pie, which is based on FunTouch OS 9.1. On the battery front, the phone is backed by a 5000mAh battery with 18W dual-engine support.

Lastly, the smartphone that gives a stiff competition to the Tecno Camon 12 Air is the Samsung Galaxy A10s. The smartphone comes with a price tag of Rs 9,499 for the 2GB RAM + 32GB of internal storage, while the 3GB RAM + 32GB of internal storage is priced at Rs 10,499. With this, Tecno Camon 12 Air is giving you much better RAM and storage option along with the better display.

The Samsung Galaxy A10s is equipped with a 6.2-inch HD+ Infinity-V display with a screen resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core Exynos chipset.

On the camera front, the smartphone is equipped with a dual-camera setup with a combination of 13-megapixel primary lens with f/1.8 aperture along with a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For the front, it is loaded with an 8-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture. The Galaxy A10s runs on OneUI, which is based on Android 9.0 Pie. it is backed by a 4000mAh battery.
