Indian handset maker, Swipe has announced the launch of a phablet called Konnect 5.0. The phablet is priced at Rs 8,999 and comes with decent features.
To start with, the Swipe Konnect 5.0 features a 5 inch display with qHD resolution. It promises fluid performance with a 1.3 GHz quad core Processor and 1 GB RAM. The handset comes with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system but Swipe on its product page has mentioned that the device is upgradable to Android KitKat (though it has not mentioned any time frame).
The Konnect 5.0 has 8 GB of in-built storage which is complemented by an expandable storage slot that can accommodate a micro SD card of upto 32 GB. For photography, the phablet has an 8 megapixel camera in its rear while a 3.2 megapixel camera is in its front. The dual SIM smartphone is 3G enabled and has WiFi as well as Bluetooth 4.0.
This 8.9 thick smartphone weighs only 135 grams. It has a decent 1950 mAh battery but Swipe has not revealed either standby or talktime.
