Sony Ericsson today announced the launch of its latest Android based smartphone, the Sony Ericsson Live, with a unique blend of its patented Walkman technology and social media. The social media integration on this Smartphone is somewhat similar to what the Facebook inside Xperia feature brings to the newer smartphones like Xperia Arc and play.
The Sony Ericsson Live features a hardware music button that provides instant access to the music player and with Facebook integration users can easily share it among all their friends with just one touch.
The Sony Ericsson Live smartphone features a large 3.2 inch multi-touch touchscreen and is powered by a powerful 1 GHz processor. A front facing camera is also added to the device but it can only be used to make VoIP calls like one does using the Skype video calling.
The rear camera is a 5 Megapixel auto focus camera and can capture 720p HD video recording at 30 FPS. Sony’s xLOUD, which enhances audio output, is preinstalled with the latest Walkman update on this device. To make it all a little more exciting, the device comes pre-installed with the latest Android OS for smartphones – the Gingerbread 2.3
The Live also comes preinstalled with Sony’s Qriocity media service that lets the users explore music and video content direct from Sony.
“Consumers want smartphones to deliver a rich and social entertainment experience. Rather than a one dimensional music experience, they want instant and seamless access to new content, combined with the ability to share and connect with their friends. The Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman provides exactly this, in a powerful package with great style.” Said Nikolaus Scheurer, head of product marketing, Sony Ericsson.
Sony Ericsson Live will be made available in India and other countries by the end of this year and that is when more information on the price of this smartphone will be revealed.
