Korean smartphone and consumer electronics giant Samsung appears to be all set to launch a new version of its Samsung Galaxy SIII with a 16 Megapixel camera during the upcoming IFA event which is set to start in few days in Berlin, Germany. Although no official announcement has come from the company but apparently GSM Arena has received a tip from an insider with knowledge about company’s secret plans for the launch.
The new Galaxy SIII would come with a massive 16 megapixel image sensor as opposed to the 8 megapixel one on the present Galaxy SIII. In terms of specifications, there would be nothing different with a similar Samsung Exynos quad core Processor with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as its operating system with 1 GB of RAM and 4.8 inch Super Amoled plus HD display featuring a 1280 X 720 pixel resolution to support it.
The smartphone is likely to feature Optical Zoom up to 10X zooming abilities along with a Xenon flash. The depth of the device has been tipped to have gone twice the width of the regular Galaxy SIII as well.
With the new camera and features, the device would compete with the Nokia Pure View 808 and the upcoming iPhone 5 as well. However, there is no information about the likely price of the new Galaxy SIII.
