Earlier this month, Samsung unveiled a new, Burgundy Red colour variant for its Galaxy S8 smartphone. At that time, the company didn’t reveal its launch date but now the new variant has officially been officially launched in Korea. The new colour will be available in the company’s home market Korea starting from today i.e November 28.
Currently, the new colour option will be exclusive to the South Korean market, but it is expected to be available globally also in some time. This is the 6th colour option of Galaxy S8 after Rose Pink, Arctic Silver, Coral Blue, Orchid Gray and Midnight Black.
Samsung had earlier released an official ad for the new colour variant on its Samsung Mobile Korea YouTube channel. The video features autumn themes. However, there’s nothing new in the device apart from colour change. Apparently, to celebrate the colours of autumn, the rear glass back has a beautiful and rich red colour. Everything remains the same, that includes the specifications as well.
To recollect some key specifications, Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with a 5.8-inch Quad HD (2960 x 1440 pixels) Infinity display which is curved on both sides. The handset boasts a display aspect ratio of 18:9. The Galaxy S8 arrives with Exynos 8895 Chipset which is an Octa-Core processor clocked at 2.3 GHz in Korea. Apart from this, the device packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.
On the camera front, the Galaxy S8 is equipped with a 12-megapixel rear camera with Dual Pixel technology and Aperture f/1.7 and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with smart Autofocus and aperture f/1.7.MP F1.7 Smart autofocus front camera.
The smartphone runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat and is powered by a 3000mAh battery. On the connectivity front, both the device supports Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, USB Type-C, GPS, GLONASS and 4G LTE. The Samsung Galaxy S8 measures 148.9 x 68.1 x 8.0 mm and weighs 155 grams.
