Samsung Galaxy A8 Star was launched last year with Android 8.1 (Oreo) operating system. Now the smartphone has received a stable Android Pie update in Vietnam. The update comes just after few days when the Chinese variant A9 Star received Pie with OneUI. More countries should receive the update in the upcoming days.
The Android Pie build for the Galaxy A8 Star carries version number G885FOLM2BSF8. The update also brings the latest May 2019 Android security patch as well. In addition to new features from Android Pie, the phone will also get Samsung’s latest One UI interface, reports SamMobile.
The latest UI features newly designed controls at the bottom with larger search box or text at the first half, which it claims will be easier to navigate as compared to its predecessor. Apart from this, users will be able to use new gesture controls, vertical volume controls, a new pill-shaped icon for navigations, refined notifications and Quick Settings and new power menu among others.
One can also manually check for the update by going to Settings ->About Phone -> Software Update. Before starting the update, your device should be at least 50% charged with a stable Wi-Fi network.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star features a 6.28-inch FHD+ (1080×2220 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity display. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 Processor along with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It features a dual-camera setup with a combination of 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 24-megapixel secondary sensor and a 24-megapixel front camera.
