Reliance Jio discontinues Rs 19 and Rs 52 sachet plans

The removal of sachet packs comes after introduction of IUC Top-up vouchers.

After introducing three sachet plans priced at Rs 19, Rs 52 and Rs 98 earlier this year, Reliance Jio has now discontinued Rs 19 and Rs 52 prepaid recharge plans.

The Rs 19 and Rs 52 plans came with 1 day and 7 day validity respectively. Both the plans have now been removed from Jio.com and My Jio app.

Reliance Jio Rs 19 plan was offering 150 of data. After the data is consumed, users were still able to access the net with a downgraded speed up to 64Kbps. The Rs 52 sachet plan was offering a total 1.05GB of data with a limit of 150 MB per day. Both the plans came with free complimentary subscription to Jio apps as well as unlimited voice calls on local, STD and roaming.

With the removal of the two sachet packs, the Jio prepaid plans now start from Rs 98. The Rs 98 pack offers 2.1GB of data with a daily FUP (Fair Usage Policy) limit of 150 MB per day. The pack comes with a validity of 14 days.

The removal of sachet packs comes after introduction of IUC Top-up vouchers. The company has now started charging its prepaid and postpaid users 6 paise per minute for outgoing calls to Airtel, Vodafone, BSNL and others. For prepaid users, outgoing calls to other operators will be charged 6 paise per minute from their amount.

IUC plans for prepaid users include Rs 10, Rs 20, Rs 50 and Rs 100 offering 124 minutes, 249, 656 and 1,362 minutes of free IUC respectively. In the case of postpaid plans, customers will now be billed at 6 paise per minute for off-network calls and will be entitled to more free data.
