Panasonic is all set to enter the premium smartphone segment with two new devices. The company is planning to launch AI-infused smartphones on October 4.
As per a report by IANS, both the devices will be available for purchase from next month as the company is planning to encash the festive season. The report further highlights that the phones will come with some interesting features like astainless steel body and both of them will feature wireless charging.
The report also mentions that both the phones will come loaded with top-of-the-line specifications, meaning that it might be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. It would be interesting to see the new products from Panasonic as it is yet to make its presence felt in the mid-premium and premium segment in India. In a recent interview with IANS, Pankaj Rana, Business Head, Mobility Division, Panasonic India, had aspired to be in the top 10 brands in India.
The company will surely have a tough time competing with OnePlus 6, which has a sizeable market chunk in this price Band and other players like Samsung and Apple have already a loyal fan base. So, it would be interesting to see whether Panasonic will be able to woo its cream crowd with its latest offering or it will be just another phone that will be lost in this crowded smartphone market.
