We exclusively reported that Oppo is planning to launch a new smartphone in the Reno series in India this month. Now, the company has finally announced that it will be launching next-generation of Reno smartphones in India. The company has started sending out media invites for the launch event, which is scheduled to take place on August 28, 2019.
The invite reveals that the next-generation of Reno smartphones will be known as Oppo Reno 2 series. The invite also says that the upcoming smartphone will be equipped with a whopping 20X zoom. The invite also reveals that the smartphone will be loaded with quad-camera setup at the back panel.
As per invite, the Reno 2 series will be equipped with Shark Fin rising camera, which is also present in the first generation of Reno smartphones. The invite also hints that the company might introduce two smartphones in the Reno 2 series including a standard version of Reno 2 and Reno 20X Zoom. The invite further reveals that the Reno 2 series is coming first to India. That said, there is no information about the upcoming Reno 2 series, so we suggest you stay tuned with us.
To recall, Oppo introduced the Reno series in India in May this year. The brand launched two smartphones including Oppo Reno and Oppo Reno 10X Zoom. The Oppo Reno 10X Zoom edition is priced at Rs 39,990 for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version, and the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage variant is priced at Rs 49,990. The Oppo Reno comes in a single variant with 6GB RAM with 128GB storage and is priced at Rs 32,990.
The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom features a 6.6-inch Full HD+ 19:5:9 aspect ratio AMOLED Display with 2340 × 1080 pixels resolution, 100% NTSC colour gamut, Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. Under the hood, the phone is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 855 7nm Mobile Platform (1 x 2.84GHz Kryo 485 + 3 x 2.42GHz Kryo 485 + 4x 1.80GHz Kryo 485) with Adreno 640 GPU.
