OnePlus has started rolling out a new update to the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T smartphones in India. The new update brings new features and improvements.
The update brings OxygenOS 9.0.4 update to both the smartphones. The official changelog reveals that it is an incremental update and it brings June Android security patch to both the devices. Furthermore, the update brings general bug fixes and improvements.
The company has revealed that this is a staged rollout, meaning that the OTA will be received by a limited number of users first and then a broader rollout will begin in a few days. The company says that using a VPN to download the build might not work as the rollout is not based on regions and is randomly pushed out to a very limited number of devices. In order to check for the update, one can go to Settings > System > System Updates.
Previously, the company rolled out Android 9.0 Pie update to both OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T smartphones. The update also brings the latest April security patch along with the Pie update. The changelog reveals that it brings new customisation to the time range in the Do Not Disturb mode.
The update also adds Gaming mode 3.0 and it supports displaying text content of the head up notifications and it also adds a notification for 3rd party calls. It brings Google Duo support in the dialer App and the brand has also added Google Lens in the camera application. The update also brings some general bug fixes and improvements.
To recollect some key specifications, the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T are backed by a 5.5-inch Optic AMOLED Full HD capacitive touchscreen with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and 401 PPI pixel density. The phones are backed by a 3,400 mAh lithium-polymer battery and it supports Dash Charge (5V 4A) technology.
