Nokia issues Belle update

Some of the smartphones with a 1 GHz processor will be boosted to 1.3 GHz with the Belle update.

While the whole world awaits the launch of Symbian Carla which is the successor of the Nokia Belle operating system, Finnish mobile manufacturer Nokia has planned something entirely different for its customers. The company has made available an update for its Nokia Belle operating system (OS), Feature pack 1, which is featured on the Nokia’s Pure View 808 smartphone.

The Feature Pack 1 update for Symbian Belle will soon be made available to the users of Nokia 603, 700 and 701 smartphones in coming months.

The update will boost the speed of Nokia 700 and 701 from 1 GHz to 1.3 GHz. The additional computing muscle that will be added to these devices will surely come in handy while doing multi-tasking and running applications that do some heavy data crunching.

On the entertainment front, the Feature Pack 1 of Symbian belle brings Dolby and Dolby Digital Plus to transform the playback of music, movies and games into a personal surround sound experience. The Nokia Belle Feature Pack 1 will increase the personalisation options even further with 20 new and improved widgets.

In addition, the update brings a new, faster with HTML 5 support, the latest version of Nokia Maps, and the recently announced Microsoft apps. It will be available as an over the air update, that means consumers who are your Nokai Beelo smartphones will get a notification on their phone.
