Nokia is widely expected to re-enter the smartphone segment this year. In past few months, various alleged devices of Nokia with Android OS were in the limelight and now another purported Nokia device has been spotted online. Images of an alleged Nokia smartphone, called Nokia A1, were published on the website of Android Authority. This alleged Android powered smartphone is expected to be launched later this year.
Nokia sold its smartphone business to Microsoft in 2014 which barred it from entering the smartphone segment till the end of last year. Hence, many analysts expect Nokia to re-enter the smartphone segment this year. Nokia has also indicated its desire to enter the smartphone space in the past.
Earlier Nokia C1 with Android operating system and Nokia N73 Rebirth concept phone with Android 6.0 Marshmallow were spotted.
According to the website, the alleged Nokia A1 is to come with a 5.5-inch Fulll HD (1080p) display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor. The smartphone is expected to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system but with Nokia’s Z Launcher on top of it.
