HMD Global seems to be launching Nokia 6.1 Plus in India on August 21. The company has now started sending out the media invites for a launch event. However, the name of the smartphone has not unveiled. It is expected that the company will launch 6.1 Plus in the event. The Nokia 6.1 Plus support page is already live in India.
Along with Nokia 6.1 Plus, HMD Global is also likely to announce the Nokia 5.1 Plus, Nokia 2.1 smartphone and Nokia 8110 4G feature phone. To recall, the Nokia 6.1 Plus is an Android One smartphone which was first launched in China as Nokia X6. In India, the smartphone is likely to be launched with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage and expected to be priced under Rs 20,000. At this price point, it will likely to compete with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and the Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M1) smartphones.
The Dual-SIM Nokia 6.1 Plus smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo and it features a 5.8-inch full-HD+ (1080×2280 pixels) display. Powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC, it is coupled with 4GB of RAM. It features a dual rear camera setup with a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with a f/2.0 aperture. For selfies, there is a 16-megapixel front camera along with a f/2.0 aperture. There is also Face Unlock feature in the phone. At the back, it has a fingerprint sensor as well.
It has 64GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 400GB via micro SD card slot. The smartphone is packed with 3060mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fuel the device. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS and Type-C.
